Unique and important vintage Cartier (1940s-1950s) gold and gem set diamond flowers lipstick holder. The present Cartier jewel is an unique “objet de vertu” as it was a custom order for a member of a European Royal family. The Cartier lipstick holder is a heavy 18 karat yellow gold one, with various types of engraving patterns and possessing a total of 6 platinum flowers, each one of them having 5 round brilliant cut diamond petals (30pcs. in total), while 3 of them having round ruby centerpieces, 2 round emerald centerpieces and the last one having a round sapphire center. Total diamond weight is 3 carats (each diamond is about 0.10 carat). Gross weight is 42 grams of 18K gold. The piece is 57mm (2.25”) tall and about 20mm (0.80”) in diameter. It has a couple of French hallmarks and assay marks, as well as what appears to be a Jacques Cartier maker's mark. The bottom is signed Cartier and numbered 01428. The latter is rather faint due to some wear, but it is quite visible for a perfect identification. LIFETIME GUARANTEED AUTHENTIC CARTIER PIECE. One can do a reference research on several Cartier gold lipstick holders being sold recently at major auction objects of vertu sales, but none of them is as beautiful and appear dull when compared to the present piece... Similar Cartier lipstick holders that are seen sell at auctions are miles away in terms of beauty and craftsmanship when compared to the one currently offered for sale. Absolutely scarce antique jewelry collector piece and one of the rare and unique Cartier gemset jewelry objects and jewels in general.
