Item description:

See scan - absolutely perfect condition. This has been one of the best art crafted Bulgarian Communist era badges. Issued and presented to participants to the 2nd International Congress of the Radiologists and X-Ray specialists. The congress was held in Sofia in 1965. The badge has a large diameter of 38mm and has a superb colorful cloisonne enamel work. At center of the badge is depicted the city center Mausoleum where the mummified body of the Communist leader Dimitrov was preserved throughout the years just like the body of Lenin and his Mausoleum in Soviet Russia's Capital Moscow. The Sofia Mausoleum was destryed by State order in late 90ies putting an end to the Communist major symbols in downtown Sofia. Scarce collector piece and one of the rare Bulgarian badges.
