Item description:

See scan - absolutely perfect condition. This is a nice and rare 19th century French Empire era large 2 piece bronze dore chest padlock clasp. The gold / gilt is worn away, but there is still some resifue to show what it really looked like. The piece is very heavy and measures about 110mm x 93mm. Center top part shows a cherub or angel face with fruit bowl centerpiece on topas well as many other fruit and floral motifs all over the whole piece. There are several whole for screwing the clasp to the chest and special large cylinder whole going through the lower part of the clasp in order for the padlock to go through. Nice and scarce collector piece and one of the nice French Empire bronze chest padlocks and clasps.
